Ang Talaan ng mga Ninuno ni Jesucristo

Mateo 1:1-17

How long is one generation? According to Ancestry.com, a calculation based upon "three generations per century (33 years each) for male lines and 3.5 generations per century (29 years each) for female lines" leads to much more accurate estimates.

Have you ever wondered what your great grandfather or great grandmother looks like? Some of you might recall your lolo or lola but I'm sure very few of us remembers the faces of our grand parents- parents(4th Generation)and I can say that you are lucky if you have a photo of your 5th generation grand parents because this will be very rare indeed.

My father said that his grand dad is a military officer in the Spanish army during the early 18th century and he is a strict disciplinarian to my dad's father during those times.

My dad said that his grandfather always hold a leather whip and you know what happens when he gets angry!

To summarize, my great grandfather is a Spanish Military officer, my grand daddy is a finance guy who works in a bank. He is also a "playboy" according to my dad because he is very good looking, which makes my lola jealous most of the time.

My dad on the other hand is a simple guy, family man, loves my mom dearly and works long hours as a security officer in a hardware store named Parsons.

I remember that he used to bring me to his work and stayed with him until his shift ends the next day. By the way my dad is a rider. He drives a motorcycle everyday to work.

I think one of the most important lesson my dad and mom thought us is the love of family and the fear of God.

I believe if not for my parents encouragement, we would not have the same faith in God like they had.

I think the message of our gospel today is to continue doing good in our lifetime so that generations after generations of our family tree will reap the good rewards/harvest of our efforts in doing good.

God made a covenant with David that He will bless his family line for generations to come.. And God never broke His promise even after hundreds of years after David died.

As mentioned in Psalm 112:1-3

Hallelujah! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in God's commands.

Their descendants shall be mighty in the land, generation upright and blessed.

Wealth and riches shall be in their homes; their prosperity shall endure forever.

So for those of you who continue to do good but it seems like unfortunate things still persists in their life, don't get tired of doing good. Perhaps you may not benefit from it personally but surely your generations will be blessed abundantly. And God never breaks his promise.

Merry Christmas to all of you!
