Mark 6:30-34
The Apostles gathered together with Jesus
and reported all they had done and taught.
He said to them,
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
People were coming and going in great numbers,
and they had no opportunity even to eat.
So they went off in the boat by themselves to a deserted place.
People saw them leaving and many came to know about it.
They hastened there on foot from all the towns
and arrived at the place before them.
When Jesus disembarked and saw the vast crowd,
his heart was moved with pity for them,
for they were like sheep without a shepherd;
and he began to teach them many things.
Ang Pagbabalik ng Labingdalawa.
Marcos 6:30-34

He is the only one we need to survive!
Jesus retreated from the crowds to take a break on a deserted place but the people saw them leaving and many came to know about it. They hastened there on foot from all the towns
and arrived at the place before them.
Here we can see Jesus compassion that although He and his apostles wanted to rest, He continued His teachings out of pity for the people.
Things sometimes does not turn out the way we wanted it to be because of unexpected turn out of events. Like Jesus, He didn't mind the extended service to the people as long as it is for the glory of God.
At the St Peter Parish where we serve as lector and commentator, my wife and I sometimes had to extend our services for another mass because the next in line has not showed up yet.
One time, this happened last year,we extended for another two masses straight because the second and the third scheduled Lector did not showed up.
At first, I was a bit irritated about it but when I thought about the opportunity to serve longer hours for His glory,I came to realize that we were blessed after all.
Our Gospel for today teaches us to be compassionate to the people when it comes to service especially if its for God's glory.
God bless us all forever.
