Our Gospel for Feb 15. The Leaven of the Pharisees.

Mark 8:14-21

The disciples had forgotten to bring bread,
and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.
Jesus enjoined them, “Watch out,
guard against the leaven of the Pharisees
and the leaven of Herod.”
They concluded among themselves that
it was because they had no bread.
When he became aware of this he said to them,
“Why do you conclude that it is because you have no bread?
Do you not yet understand or comprehend?
Are your hearts hardened?
Do you have eyes and not see, ears and not hear?
And do you not remember,
when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand,
how many wicker baskets full of fragments you picked up?”
They answered him, “Twelve.”
“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand,
how many full baskets of fragments did you pick up?”
They answered him, “Seven.”
He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”

People are most often blinded by the blessings in front of them. We usually forgot to count the graces we receive every single day.

I will challenge you that if you start counting the blessings you receive each day, it will always be more than your worries.

No matter how painful your situation maybe, if you will start thanking God for all your blessings, you will always feel grateful about how good our God is.

If you find it difficult to count your blessings, start with your body. Thank God for your eyesight, your hearing, your appetite, your hands, your feet, your ability to speak, etc.etc.

Do you want me to go on? Okay. Think about your family. Your parents, your siblings, the people who loves you and the people who cares about you.

The food that you eat daily. The water that you drink. The air that you breathe, etc.

Do you know that in some parts of the world where people could not find drinking water drinks the urine of some animals?

If you need pictures, I will show you.

Thank God and count your blessings every single day and you will always be happy no matter how big you think your problem is.

We all have concerns and problems. But do you know that no matter how big your problem is there will always be people somewhere who has bigger problems than you.

It's all a matter of perception. Don't worry be happy! Always share your blessings and you'll be rewarded more than you can ever imagine.

God bless us all forever! God bless the Philippines!
