Our Gospel for Dec 9. Jesus Testimony to John.

Mt 11:11-15

Jesus said to the crowds:
“Amen, I say to you, among those born of women
there has been none greater than John the Baptist;
yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force. All the prophets and the law prophesied up to the time of John.  And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, the one who is to come. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Ang Patotoo ni Hesus kay Juan.

Mateo 11:11-15

"Whoever has ears ought to hear." (Those who believe should listen carefully because not everyone believes in the coming Kingdom of Heaven.)

(Like John the Baptist, we should also prepare the way of the Lord in order to receive His Kingdom in ourselves.

We should cleanse our spirit with all kinds of wrongdoings and make it a habit to do good to others. Instead of cursing your boss for example, simply say God bless you, no matter how angry you are or instead of saying demeaning words to your son or daughter for some nasty things they did to you or to your reputation, pray silently instead and say God bless you.

Instead of saying "ingat" (means take care but in a negative connotation)as what Filipinos usually say to each other when we part ways, say God bless you instead.

These little things are usually the start of something good and it should begin with us.

If you have a long grudge or anger to anyone who have wronged you, forgive that person and make amends.

Be grateful too for all your blessings everyday. I see to it that I write down all the things that I'm grateful for every morning to start my day. Even though most of it are repetitions but somehow I always think of another thing to be grateful for each day as if its endless.

Doing this daily thanksgiving exercise makes me feel fulfilled and contented everyday.

Now that Christmas day is just around the corner, do something good to others (better if someone you don't know)that you haven't done in a long time, like treating them to lunch, or sharing them a substantial amount that they can share with their family or anything that would make them happy. Please note that when you give, you should not expect anything in return and for me this is the secret of giving.

I will bet my life on it that once you have done such things,(better also not to tell any of your friends about it too, because our God is the one we wanted to please not ourselves), you will feel "goose bumps" all over your body. The feeling is simply unexplainable.

I think and I believe that it is the Holy Spirit thanking you for the wondrous deeds you have done to your neighbor.

God bless you all and may the Spirit of Christ dwell in you this yuletide season this year and the years to come.

God bless you all!
