When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, the parents of Jesus took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord,
Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,
and to offer the sacrifice of a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons, in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel,
and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.
He came in the Spirit into the temple;and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying:“Lord, now let your servant go in peace;
your word has been fulfilled: my own eyes have seen the salvation
which you prepared in the sight of every people, a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel.” The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother,
“Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel,
and to be a sign that will be contradicted (and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”

Maski sila Maria Joseph at Jesus na pinakadakila sa lahat ng pamilya sa buong mundo ay sumusunod sa mga batas ng ating panginoon.
Tayo man ay mayroon din pong mga batas sa ating relihiyon na ating sinusunod kagaya ng pagkukumpil, pagbibinyag,di pagkain ng karne during holy week at marami pang iba.
Subalit kung minsan ay parang sumosobra ang ating pagsunod at sariling paniniwala at parang nagiging over acting na tayo.
Katulad halimbawa ng paglakad ng luhod sa simbahan, pagpapako sa Krus o Penitensya.
Ito po ay hindi masama at hindi po natin ito tinutuligsa dahil ito po ay sariling pagpapasya ng tao at kung ito po ay nagdudulot ng ginhawa sa taong gumagawa nito ay wala po itong problema.
Subalit kagaya po sa karamihan ng ating mga pagsunod sa mga batas dahil sa ating sariling paniniwala sana ay ating naiisip na itong sakripisyo na ito ay kabayaran sa ating mga nagawang mga kasalanan at hindi isang paraan na para tayo ay muling makagagawa na naman ng mga kasalanan dahil tayo ay malinis nang muli.
Ang iba naman po sa atin ay masyado ang pagiging relihiyoso at relihiyosa subalit pag dating sa ating mga kabahayan ay minamaltrato ang mga kasambahay, mga anak at ibang mga tao.
Ang iba ay puno ng santo sa bahay subalit kapag nagmura ay halos malaglag ang mga santo sa kanilang mga kinalalagyan.
Sana po sa taong papasok ay maging makahulugan ang ating pagiging malapit sa ating panginoon at hindi lamang isang palamuti ang ating ginagawang pagsunod sa mga batas ng ating simbahan kundi isang taos pusong pagsunod sa kanyang mga pinaguutos, sa loob at labas ng ating pamamahay at lalong lalo na sa ating mga puso.
Manigong Bagong Taon po sa inyong lahat!
