Our Gospel for Nov 1. Solemnity of all the Saints.

The Sermon on the Mount

Matthew 5:1-12

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the
mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples
came to him. He began to teach them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the
sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”

Ang Pangangaral sa Bundok

Mateo 5:1-12

Beatitude is Supreme blessedness or happiness.

One of my favorite blessedness in the Sermon on the Mount is about the Peacemakers. I believe being a "Peacemaker" is one of my advocacy in life. I hate to see people back fight each other, bicker against one another or hear gossip about another person be it in our neighborhood, family circle or even in our ME community.

My first reply whenever I am faced with such gossip or back biting is to "let go and forgive." I always insist that they should talk to one another and settle the issues before it worsens. Sometimes, I even volunteer myself to be the arbitrator if needed.

I think no WAR, HUNGER or POVERTY would exist if we all are Peacemakers in this world.

Let us be blessed abundantly by God for being Peacemakers in our household, neighborhood, circle of family and friends and even in our own spiritual community.

Better to be firm in expressing our disapproval over the fighting, back biting and gossip than putting fire to it that would make the issues more painful.

God bless us all more than we can ever imagine!
