True Blessedness. Our Gospel for Saturday, Oct 9, 2010

Luke 11:27-28
While Jesus was speaking,
a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
“Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed.”
He replied, “Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Many have heard the word of God but find it difficult to observe it or comply with it. Why? Because of so many obstructions in our modern way of life like television, cable, internet, computer games, movies and many more.
Jesus said "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it. But how?

1. HABIT - Make it a habit to do good all the time, 24/7. I remember a quote which I printed and stick on to my car rear view mirror which says, "Have you done a good deed lately?" Day in and day out I see it when I drive. Although that was a long time ago and I sold that car already, somehow it stays in my subconscious mind that I need to do good constantly.

2.FOCUS- on God's word by reading, researching, and studying every detail of His word when you had the chance. Maximize every opportunity of your free time to know more about Him. Make an effort.

3.ENCOURAGE- your spouse to study the Word of God with you and your family member, so that everyone knows where you are heading to. I believe this is the secret to a happy marriage life.

4. THANK GOD EVERYDAY- practice thanking God for all the blessings you received yesterday because you have so many things to be thankful for. Sometimes we just see what we need, but oftentimes we forgot to thank him for the good health we have, the food that we eat and the water we drink daily, the house that we live in and so many other blessings, that we take for granted.

Being grateful and satisfied for what we have is all that matters. It makes the difference when you want to be happy.

God bless you more than you can imagine.
