Lk 11:42-46
The Lord said:
“Woe to you Pharisees!
You pay tithes of mint and of rue and of every garden herb,
but you pay no attention to judgment and to love for God.
These you should have done, without overlooking the others.
Woe to you Pharisees!
You love the seat of honor in synagogues
and greetings in marketplaces.
Woe to you!
You are like unseen graves over which people unknowingly walk.”
Then one of the scholars of the law said to him in reply,
“Teacher, by saying this you are insulting us too.”
And he said, “Woe also to you scholars of the law!
You impose on people burdens hard to carry,
but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them.”

AS servants, we are obliged to follow our masters instructions, like a subordinate to a boss. Whenever we are told to do something and we do not obey, we either pay consequences of being suspended or worst being fired from our job.
This is how the Pharisees view themselves in the past. Since they believe they are authorities of the law, they feel that they are too important to do the dirty jobs and insists that it is the job of their servants.
When we serve God and our neighbor, we are all servants period. There is only one master and He is Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.
But even Jesus Christ himself did not act as one but also as a true servant even to his followers when He washed their feet.
When Jesus moved to wash their feet (see John 13:1-16), they were shocked. His actions serve also as symbolic of spiritual cleansing (vs. 6-9) and a model of Christian humility (vs. 12-17). Through this action Jesus taught the lesson of selfless service that was supremely exemplified by His death on the cross.
Ang nagpapakumbaba ay syang itinataas at ang nagpapakataas ay sya namang ibinababa.
God bless you all!
