"It is I.Do not be afraid." Our Gospel for May 7, 2011.

John 6:16-21
When it was evening, the disciples of Jesus went down to the sea, embarked in a boat, and went across the sea to Capernaum. It had already grown dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea was stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. But he said to them,
“It is I. Do not be afraid.”
They wanted to take him into the boat,
but the boat immediately arrived at the shore to which they were heading.

Lumakad si Jesus sa Ibabaw ng Tubig
John 6:16-21

These words assures us to hold on to Him regardless of whatever problems we are going through right now.

It was also the focus of the priest reflection today during the final rites of my cousin Bernard who passed away recently.

He assured everyone that "Death" is just the beginning of eternal life which was the promise of our Lord God that whoever believes in Jesus, will not perish but will have eternal life (John 3:16)

Entrust everything to God and He will take care of the rest. Not only here on earth but until life after death.

May God have mercy on the soul of our cousin Bernard.

Please grant eternal rest to Bernard O'Lord and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
