He has been raised...Our Gospel for April 23, 2011

Matthew 28:1-10

After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake;
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
approached, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
His appearance was like lightning
and his clothing was white as snow.
The guards were shaken with fear of him
and became like dead men.
Then the angel said to the women in reply,
“Do not be afraid!
I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples,
‘He has been raised from the dead,
and he is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him.’
Behold, I have told you.”
Then they went away quickly from the tomb,
fearful yet overjoyed,
and ran to announce this to his disciples.
And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them.
They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid.
Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee,
and there they will see me.”

Muling nabuhay si Jesus
Mateo 28: 1-10

We had the opportunity to hear mass at 7PM in observance of the "Vigil on the Holy Night of Easter." The whole Eucharistic celebration lasted for more than 2 hours and if you have attended mass on the night of Black Saturday, you know what I'm talking about. Some of the highlights were, the Veneration of Light, Celebration of Baptism and many more.

One of my assigned task as Lector is to voice over "God" on the first 3 readings.

While this is a great privilege for me, it is also a challenge because I really have no idea how to mimic the voice of God except to make my voice firm but soft and with full authority.

After the 3rd reading, I felt a sigh of relief and I hope I did the best I can. Afterall, Its all for His glory.

As Jesus said, Do not be afraid!

The resurrection is the culmination of everything that Jesus has said and done, the confirmation of what he has preached about the Father. It is the triumph of his love and life.

Let's not be afraid most especially when we spread the good news of the Lord.

May God continue to bless us always and forever!
