Our Gospel for January 20. Large Crowds of People Followed Jesus.

Mk 3:7-12

Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him. He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known.

Sinundan si Jesus ng Maraming Tao

Marcos 3:7-12

Recently, the Quiapo church celebrated the yearly Black Nazarene procession or the "Pasan" as they call it, and if you had the chance to see it, you can see multitude of people joining the procession. (You might want to see my blog chuchguide.blogspot.com where I featured Quiapo church).

I believe there are more people who followed Jesus in our Gospel for today than those who attended the Black Nazarene procession simply because of Jesus presence in flesh and blood.

Despite the difficulties of the situation before where there were no Large screen Projectors and public address system where Jesus could use to address the people, we can feel that He wanted to be with more people up close and personal.

At the present time, although were not as fortunate to be with Jesus personally, we can still feel His presence when we receive the Holy Eucharist. There is also a certain spiritual strength that we feel when we totally submit ourselves to Jesus while attending the holy mass.

It is simply the need to seek him out and know that He is near.

Let's open our Hearts to Jesus and He will surely come in to our lives!

God bless us all forever!
