Luke 2:16-21
The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and
Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child.
All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds.
And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.
Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.

When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

Sila ay nagmadaling pumunta roon. Nasumpungan nila roon si Maria at si Jose, at ang sanggol na nakahiga sa sabsaban. Pagkakita nila, kanilang ipinamalita ang salitang sinabi sa kanila patungkol sa sanggol na ito.
Ang lahat ng mga nakarinig ay namangha sa mga bagay na sinabi sa kanila ng mga tagapag-alaga ng tupa.
Sinarili ni Maria ang lahat ng mga salitang ito, at isina-alang-alang sa kaniyang puso.
At bumalik ang mga tagapag-alaga ng tupa na niluluwalhati at pinupuri ang Diyos dahil sa lahat ng mga bagay na kanilang narinig at nakita tulad ng pagkasabi sa kanila.

Please allow me to share with you some excerpts from the reflection of Fr Paul Marquez,SSP on today's gospel.
Some people find it difficult to accept Mary as Mother of God. Their difficulty stems from the wrong notion that Jesus' divinity originates from Mary.
The Catholic Church has never declared Mary to be a "goddess" possessing powers greater than Jesus.
In declaring Mary as "Mother of God," the Church solemnly declares that Jesus, the second person of the Trinity, was born of Mary according to the flesh.
What was born to Mary was the humanity by which the Word is united according to the grand design of heavenly father.
Today's gospel is meant to commemorate the part played by Mary in this mystery of salvation.
It is also meant to exalt the singular dignity which this mystery brings to the 'holy Mother through whom we were found worthy to receive the Author of Life.'
It is likewise a fitting occasion for renewed adoration of the newborn Prince of Peace.
The peace that Jesus brings is far beyond mere accommodation or tolerance. Jesus shows us that the only effective and most enduring kind of peace comes to our midst when we lay down our arms, divest ourselves of rancor in our hearts and learn to reach out to one another like brothers and sisters belonging to God's family.
We have Mary Mother of God and Queen of Peace, to show us the way to achieve the elusive dream of peace.
May Mary brings us closer to this dream , as we strive to listen to her maternal bidding and inspiration.
