Our Gospel for Nov 8. Sin, Faith and Responsibility.

Luke 17:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples,
“Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the one through whom they occur.
It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck
and he be thrown into the sea
than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
Be on your guard!
If your brother sins, rebuke him;
and if he repents, forgive him.
And if he wrongs you seven times in one day
and returns to you seven times saying, ‘I am sorry,’ you should forgive him.”

And the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
The Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you would say to this mulberry tree,
‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

Kasalanan, Pananampalataya, Tungkulin

Lucas 17:1-6

Our Gospel from Luke 17:1-6, is an example of the forgiving nature that Jesus wants all of us to have. On the other hand, it also talks about God's angry nature when someone else committed a sin.
Remember the time when Jesus got angry in His Father's Temple? When he overturned the tables of the merchants and told them that they are turning his Father's house into a den of thieves? -John 2:15
He also got angry with Peter when He told him: "Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do." -Matthew 16:23

But as Jesus said, we should learn to forgive at all times.

If God is able to forgive, then who are we to deny forgiveness to those who have offended us. If we cannot learn to forgive, we are the one who suffers because we carry the anger in our hearts. Oftentimes, the anger shows on our face, body posture and physical well being. Most of the people who harbors ill feelings and anger with another person exudes poor posture, sad eyes, a condition of gloom on their faces behind their smile and poor health. It's usually difficult to cover up the feeling of anger in our eyes.

It is also not a good attitude to continue sinning because we know that we can always go to confession and ask for absolution for as simple as 1 Our father, Hail Mary and Glory be...Please..please remember, that the "Sacrament of Reconciliation" is not something you do to justify you from sinning again and again. It is our responsibility to be faithful in our repentance and we should really feel sorry and try to do better, to avoid committing another/similar sin. Hence,we will receive the forgiveness and acceptance we look for in life.

God bless us all!
