Our Gospel for Nov 24. A Challenge for all to serve our God.

Luke 21:12-19

Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

Lucas 21:12-19

Many times I've heard people grumble about the intensified trials and persecutions in their lives when they started to serve the Church, or when they started attending prayer meetings in our ME community. They said they experienced more problems compared before. The husband lost his job, one of their children got sick severely, the wife having health problems and many more.

Sometimes we encounter these problems because something in our life needs to be corrected.

Joseph the dreamer(Genesis 37) was thrown inside a deep pit, sold as slave and spent years in prison experienced the same trials and much even worst compared to some of the problems we experienced. But what happens in the end? He became the Prime Minister of Egypt because he met the Pharaoh's servants inside the prison and interpreted their dreams. When the King dreamt about something that no one can interpret, the servants who went out of prison told the king about Joseph and the rest is history.

If Joseph did not face this trials, how would he become the 2nd most highest figure in Egypt? If we will look at Joseph's problem, it is a hopeless case but God has plans for him and for us. Often times we experienced problems to make us stronger and better for bigger roles ahead of us. He wants us to mature and put our Trust on Him and He will take care of us. After all, Jesus said " not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By our perseverance we will secure our lives. The road ahead maybe bumpy but I don't care as long as I serve Him and I don't get affected by these problems.
God bless us all!
