Luke 11:1-4
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him,
“Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:

Father, hallowed be your name,
your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.”

The Lord's prayer ay isang napakagandang dasal. Jesus said that this is the right way to pray.

In Matthew 6:9-13 it is more elaborately explained. Jesus said: This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.

Before I surrender myself to the Lord, when I pray, I always start asking for this, for that and many more. I always ask for many material things like a new car, lots of money and everything I could ask for, because I believe that when you ask you should ask for more because even if you didn't get all, at least you'll get some. What matters to me is only myself. That is how Spiritually immature I am before.

When I became a member of the Missionary Couples of Mary for Christ (MCMC), a Catholic Marriage Encounter Community or ME as others call it, we were thought to always remember the acronym "ACTS" or Adoration for A, C for contrition, T for Thanksgiving and S, for supplication, when we are praying.

As a suggestion or a guide, When we pray, we should always start by Praising or Adoration. David said in Psalm 34:1 "I will bless the LORD at all times; praise shall be always in my mouth."

Contrition or interior repentance means asking for forgiveness for all the sins we have committed in the past. In Luke 17:3-4 it says, Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him.

We should always appreciate and be grateful for all the things we have regardless of how little you perceive this to be. Thanksgiving is the Heart of prayer and we should always thank the Lord our God for giving us life.

Supplication is to ask for humbly for anything that you want and believe that it will happen. Because in John 14:13-16, And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

God bless us all!
